TABLE OF CONTENTS
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED:
Ensure you have already acquired your own domain name from a reliable domain provider. If you haven't done so yet, you can purchase one from GoDaddy.com or any other reputable provider. Follow the steps below or refer to our step-by-step guide to connect your domain easily with no technical experience.
- Log in to Your Domain Provider's Control Panel:
Access the control panel of your domain provider, where you obtained your domain. - Delete Existing DNS Records:
Navigate to the DNS settings section and delete all records with the type A. - Create a New A Record:
Create a new A record in your domain provider's control panel, then get back to your Sllr dashboard to copy the required values for the new record. - Save and Verify Connection:
After completing the previous steps, save the changes and verify the connection in your Sllr dashboard.
TROUBLESHOOTING COMMON ISSUES:
Issue 1: Unable to Delete DNS Records:
Ensure that there is no forwarding set up on your domain and verify that the Website Security IP address is correct.
Issue 2: Unable to Add New Records:
If the "Add DNS record" button is disabled, follow the troubleshooting steps provided by your domain provider.
The reason you are not able to add new record is most likely because you have Godaddy’s “Website Security” plan, and the firewall blocks any DNS changes. But the solution is simple as follows:
- Go to your GoDaddy product page.
- Under Website Security and Backups, click “Manage All”.
- Under Firewall, select Details.
- Click “Settings” in the top right
- On the left, click “Firewall Status”
- Click “Disabled” and then click “Save”
Refer to this article on GoDaddy for any additional help with your new records.
